12 Years Later....

Regardless on what the mainstream media will lead you to believe, 12 years today hip hop lost one of the most important figureheads in the history of the culture. I'm talking about the hip hop thugsta, Eazy E. Fuck all those who try and hate on this legend, not only did he feed hundreds of people with his vision back when he had breath in his lungs but a dozen years later there are thousands of artists living off what he helped start. In a time where top 40 pop stars like 50 Cent roll around with body guards acting like gangstas and getting paid millions for their oscar performances, you rarely here them accknowledge that it's got alot to do with what Eazy did back then. No diss to Pac or B.I.G. but their are alot of other rappers that have passed that deserve at least equal respect for what they gave the scene. At least The Game and Eazy's son Lil' E continue to rep the Compton king.... R.I.P. EAZY.

Wow, didn't even realize it. Where has the time gone and why is the first time today I've seen anyone mention it?

Yeah, I have not heard too much about it eather Travis. Just like I did not see many people give respect to Eazy-E on his birthday last September.

To be honest, I thought about it around the 15th that his anniversary was coming but it wasn't until the weekend when I got an email from my man Skitzo reminding me, that made me post it up. I'd like to think I would have remembered but probably in a couple of days.

Thanks boys and have a drink for the King of Compton.

Wicked dedication man...Eazy was way ahead of his time...if ya listen to EAZY DUZ IT released back in 1987...it was one of few full bodied street sounds pumpin out back then...most rappers were still droppin those beat box RUN DMC soundin loops...but Eazy brung that real shit...

R.I.P to the man who "put Compton on that map"

If by 'down' you mean have every Natas album and almost every solo, then yes, we love his shit. Infact, we got a Esham post coming real soon with the rare tracks from his old red tape and the vinyl only '7 Mile' track from the Boomin Words vinyl.
